1.
Will you follow the curse of a baneful sorrow? Beyond milestones of death. To insatiable oblivion. To the end of it all. Will you follow? Spell a word that shall befall With a gleaming light of the leaden dawn. In a sudden rush her heart still beats. A lamented jewel buried deep in tragedies. With all hatred it could keep, Bleeding so painfully. In vain she blamed the Lord and cried. Her prayers despised by tacit saints. Fed up with a tongue of blasphemy, Her weakening sighs will end in agony. Oh, hapless Fate of all mankind. When darkness calls a day In its ending serenade, Again she awakes To take a sorrowful fate of the mourner. In every dawn I see A pale figure appear, To disastrous chaos dragging me down. Towards the mist I step In dissonant sanity. Blazing damnation of a sufferer, In vague blackness haunting me, Enraging howling whistlers of death. Stealing terror upon me, The shining vision solidified. Razored reality. Enraged howling whistlers of death. Silent winds whistle My own disease. I’ve seen a vision flickering And the beauty of its stillness. From a lifelike breath I could hear a sigh. Then she dropped a tear Like she was alive. Towards the curse. Now. The gates of everlasting sleep stood wide Beneath the gale and waterline. She made a step to the frozen land, Where silent winds whistle death.
2.
Light upon us descends. And you’re so fragile melting in my arms, A vision ethereal. The morning fades in tranquil harmonies. A dancing shade slips through my hands. To the untrodden path Where still immortals stand. A serene shelter for their eternal rest. A hardly beating heart I hear In a whistler’s melody. Oh, my mind can yield. A wanderer of the lonely sea To serenade my woes away. A grey fog breaks the dawn In stirring madness of the blusterous sea. By storming winds Her sleep disturbed. Disrupted. She’s still horrified And tightened to the deck. Oh, how I wish she was alive. Once dashed ashore a fair maid. Far off and desolate. Her drifting corpse of chaos made. To return to life no more. In deep poisonous salted waters. Into the void. And then I saw utter destruction of a visible form. Scorched, wrecked and torn. That fog dispelled upon the shore. Again your body laid frozen. No more my breath could thaw your soul. Each dawn I open my eyes and sigh for you.
3.
Scorched, wrecked, torn Yet struggling through the sea. Towards agonizing waves the vessel drifts. Through the howling winds from the Northeast. Like a wounded beast Ferociously. Oh, Father, what may it be? Shuddered. I cry out loud. Can you hear me? While I stay bound to the mast. Oh, Father. Watching collision of Moon and Sun I hear the bell-like thunder roar. A scornful laughter of our Lord. Here shall we all die at once? In this chaos where even gods keep silence. No more they hear us. Scorched, wrecked, torn. And salty water filling my throat. Mud in my eyes, so close darkness I see. Scorched, wrecked, torn then crumbled to the sea. Oh, Father, what may it be?

We Are Cold 04:19
As I draw in a leaden aura, They gather around me, Hollow shades of absurd. A forlorn cry Of their suffering nature Echoes the final scene of my stand. Lead upon me. The ghost will take me. Soon I’ll be rewarded. We’ll soon be a shade of the one. We are cold leaden aura.
5.
Snow 05:16
Revive. Come alive. Soon your soul will breathe again. Into me. She is a painter of my burden. Nothing more to bear. With every touch She takes away A shadow from my day. As cold as her kiss In a wilderness Do I exist? Wandering. White silver in the air. Faintly it descends. So let it snow. Until she fills my chest with lead of spells. By her words my mind possessed. With eyes staring at her freezing mouth My body is of fragile ice. Mesmerized no frost I felt. Disappearing. Frozen there she laid. With crystal eyes wide open. She comes alive. Under the gentle snow.
6.
She’s watching the sea with steady eyes of a roamer. Abandoned forevermore a spirit of the shore. Enchanting restless waters, whose depths enshrined her life. Cold and petrified. She’s searching the truth she’ll never know. In a cadence of forgetfulness. A damnatory weakness of her failure. Behind the veil of haze a wraith I see Shining grey. A formless figure of endless suffering. A transparent shell of human being. Then spilled a tear. The girl cried loud The name of the beloved one, Who waited on the shore that day With all hopes wrecked and swept away. And then she sighed again, Revealed to me a secret Of my end. You blind my eyes. I can’t see Your leaden light unto me. This unbearable numb pain in my ears. A haunting voice I cannot resist. It terrors my mind. I just cannot reach your words behind. Unconscious. I step into water. While soft winds die down, The cold water sun I see. Are you a ghost of the leaden light shining? Your words are full of sense, but I can’t hear you. While soft winds die down…

about

The second full-length album by Shallow Rivers follows the stylistics of the debut album "Nihil Euphoria" demonstrating enhanced technical and compositional abilities of musicians. Extreme and harsh, but atmospheric and melodic music is based on different styles with prevailing doom death metal resulting in sudden transitions from low to up tempo and vice versa. The album requires a thoughtful listening with leafing through the booklet. You can return to it again and again as to a good book, because it has Henry Longfellow's "The Wreck of the Hesperus" as a basis of concept. Musicians discover the theme of obsession of poets, writers, artists and creative people in general. The concept is based on the idea that their talent is driven by a kind of "innocent insanity." It gives them inspiration, but eventually turns them into madmen. The lead ghost is an obsession, a nagging sense of foreboding. Attempts to understand it end up with madness.
